Tractor GPS apps compared
We make one of the apps in these tables, so start with what AgriPilot is not. It runs on iPhone and iPad only. It guides the driver and does not steer the tractor. It uses the phone’s own GNSS receiver, which means three to five metres in an open field, not the two or three centimetres an RTK system gives you. If any of those rule it out, one of the others below will suit you better, and the tables say which.
Every value here was read off each vendor’s own US App Store listing or website on 2026-09-19. Where a vendor does not publish something, such as a hardware price, the table says so rather than guessing.
What each one does
A green cell means that product is the only one of the five offering something. An amber cell is a stated limit. Most rows are neither, because on most of this these products do the same job. AgriPilot is amber on steering, which is the honest answer: it is guidance, not auto-steer.
“Not stated” means exactly that: the vendor’s listing does not mention it. It is not the same as a no. A short App Store description is a marketing decision, not an inventory, and we would rather say we do not know than claim a competitor lacks something they may well have.
On price, remember that almost every app in this category is free to download and then locked behind a paywall, so “Free” on the App Store badge tells you nothing. What matters is the price to unlock it, which is almost always an annual subscription. Where a vendor sells several tiers the table gives the top one, so you are comparing fully unlocked against fully unlocked. These are US prices; Apple and the hardware vendors both price regionally, so what you pay elsewhere will differ.

What none of the phone apps replace
Centimetre work and auto-steer
A phone in a cab mount gives you three to five metres. That is enough to stop overlaps and skips on a wide boom, spreader or mower, where a metre either way costs you nothing. It is not enough for controlled traffic, for planting rows you will come back to with a different implement, or for anything where you would otherwise fit RTK. If that is your work, buy hardware. The phone apps above are a way to learn what guidance does before you spend the money, not a substitute for it.
Chemical application records
AgriPilot records where you drove: coverage, area, distance, duration and notes. It does not capture product, rate, batch number, weather readings or the other fields a compliance record needs, and a coverage map is not a spray diary. We make a separate app for that, Spraybook.
